The Young Women of St. Pius
St. Pius V High School is located in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx better known as the "hub." St. Pius is the only Catholic high school for girls in the South Bronx and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, or national and ethnic origin in administration of educational policies, scholarship, athletic, and other school administered programs. 37% come to St. Pius from the public school system. 95% of our students graduate in four years, compared with a public school on-time rate of 35%.
College Prep
St. Pius offers a full program of college prep courses including Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry in sequential math, and Pre-Calculus; Biology and Chemistry; American Studies and Economics; American Literature and British Literature, and Psychology. Physics and Calculus are also available. Advanced students who speak Spanish are required to complete three years of French. New York State Regents Exams are given in Social Studies, Math, Foreign Language, Biology, Chemistry and English. 95% of Pius students take the SAT. An average of over 85% of graduating students are accepted to colleges and universities and offered financial aid packages.
